The first stop on the 2016 COSAFA Castle Cup Trophy Tour will see the most coveted national team prize in Southern African football check in at Walvis Bay on Wednesday, May 18.
There will be COSAFA Castle Cup ambassadors on hand, great entertainment and prizes to be won as well as the chance to be photographed with the COSAFA Castle Cup trophy.
The Trophy Tour will stop at the Engen Walvis Bay Convenience Centre from 14h00 to 19h00, with former Namibia internationals Congo Hindjou and China Uutoni on hand to share their experiences of playing in the Brave Warriors jersey.
Fans the length and breadth of Namibia will get to view the most coveted prize in Southern African football when the COSAFA Castle Cup Trophy Tour makes its way through the country’s streets ahead of the 2016 tournament to be played in Windhoek from June 11-25.
Namibia are the current holders after their heroics in winning the silverware in South Africa last year and their legions of fans can relive that glory when the COSAFA Castle Cup Trophy Tour comes to their neighbourhoods next month.
Over and above the trophy tour, there will also be a 24-hour 5-a-side football match played June 4-5 at Football for Hope Centre, Katatura, bringing a unique occasion for fans to enjoy in a day-long feast of football.
“The COSAFA Castle Cup Trophy Tour has been designed to give as many consumers as possible access to the excitement of the tournament. We encourage consumers to join us at all the various stops to experience the pre-tournament excitement and meet some of their national heroes,” says Zama Hlophe, Marketing Manager for Castle Lager Africa.
