Angola keep CHAN quarterfinal hopes alive!

COSAFA side Angola kept up their bid for a place in the 2018 African Nations Championship quarterfinals with a 1-0 victory over Cameroon in their Group D clash at the weekend.

Southern African nations Zambia and Namibia have already qualified for the knockout stages after both claiming two wins from two in Group B. They will meet on Monday to decide top spot in the pool.

Angola claimed their victory through a 30th minute penalty from experienced striker Job that leaves them on four points from two games with a fixture against pool leaders Congo-Brazzaville to come on Wednesday.

A point will see Angola qualify, with the only way they can miss out on a quarterfinal place being if they lose and Burkina Faso beat already eliminated Cameroon.

Even then the positions will come down to goal-difference with Angola and the Burkinabe having played to a 0-0 draw in their pool opener.
