The COSAFA region is guaranteed representation in the African Champions League final this year after both Zambia’s Zesco United and Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa advanced to the semifinals.
The pair will meet in the Last 4 with the winner to advance to the October final, where they will face one of Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca or Zamalek from Egypt.
Zesco finished second in Group B after being held to a 1-1 draw by Wydad on Wednesday.
Sundowns had already secured top spot in Group A when they travelled to Enyimba for their final pool match on Tuesday. Their second-string side lost 3-1 in Nigeria.
The first leg of the semifinal will be played on the weekend of September 17-18 in Ndola, with the return in Pretoria a week later.
