Lesotho vs Mauritius

Full match report available here

90+2 Lesotho gets a corner and Mauritius have the last defending to do but the ref blows to end the match a result that sees Zimbabwe qualify for the quarterfinal to be played at Barbourfield.

Lesotho finish with four points, the same points with Zimbabwe but have score three goals to Zimbabwe's five. Singing and dancing at Rufaro at close with even the local media joining in the fan fare.

Mauritius cap a good afternoon by winning the man of the match award with defensive wall Vidiadeo Boodhun winning the award. But the islanders finish the tournament with no point and no goals yet their performance against Lesotho earned them the man of the match award for Boodhun.

88 min It is GOAL for Lesotho from a free kick just outside the box as Marabe Mokone runs home through a forest of defenders on the wall. It is 1-0 finally but the fourth official signals five minutes of added time.

87 min Lesotho have a free kick that goes over the bar and Mauritius survive again

85 min Sello is caught offside as Sophie is carried off on the stretcher. It is a survival game for Mauritius with numeriacl disadvantage but Lesotho still pressing. Singing from the stands' debicles increases as the injured Sophie returns.

84 min Mauritius having finished their substitutions had Sophie hobbling in attack effectively reducing them to nine men.

81 min Mauritius coach makes a substitution with Lemice replacing injured Jean Content but the Lesotho attack is relentless.

79 min Lesotho survive again as a beautifully struck free kick from Katleho bounces off the right upright and goes out for a corner

61 min RED CARD Mauritius are down to 10 man as substitute striker Jonathan Ernest is shown straight red for a foul on Bokang. Ref too harsh as the foul was not intentional. Silence greets the decision but Mauritius immediately attacks Lesotho goal with outstanding Pithia.

57 min Notsi, disappointed makes a double substitution Moleko Kathleho comes on for Ramashalane with Marabe Mokone replacing Mokheti

It is still 0-0 after an hour and Mauritius look to go the distance.

55 min Mauritius makes the first substitution with Ernest replacing Mitraelle but they had Muso Sello to thank for probably the miss of the day. Alone, onside he missed the target.

51 min Badul defending like a terrier to stop a dangerous raid into opposition box. Mauritius survive and Lesotho grimace in disappointment. Coach Leslie Notsi cast a frustrating figure on the bench, wondering what his charges have to do to breach the opposition defence well marshalled defence.

49 min A longball from Lesotho captain Ntobo Moitheri is played into touch by Sophie as their defence remain as organised as they were in the first half. Still the noise in the stadium is at a premium from mostly school kids bussed in for a free watch on a Wednesday afternoon.

46 min Second half resumes with Mauritius kicking off and both teams are unchanged. Lesotho are attacking from left to right defending the Mbare end. Thabo Masaule falls under challende in the box looking for a penalty but the ref rightly ignored him.

But the medical team is called in to attend to him as both teams subs warm up on the touchline.

45 min Keeper Aboo Augustin blocks a dangerous shot from Mokheti with the defence beaten. It looked like he would score but he is blocked and the halftime whistle is greeted by a huge applause as it goes to the breather 0-0.

The halftime score is 0-0 and the stadium is enjoying every moment of it.

42 min Yellow card for Mitraille for a foul on Khoto. A stalemate is probably a fair reflection on the match but Mauritius defence remain resolute under pressure from Lesotho who are looking for a goal that is proving difficult to come by.

The way the match is going suits Zimbabwe more as they remain on top with four points from two matches. Zimbabwe are praying for a draw or a win for Lesotho that is not by four goals or more. Better still a 2-0 win would see the Sunday Chidzambwa coached side qualify on aggregate.

39 min Rough play becomes the order of the day as play is stopped more frequently but Mauritius have an upperhand forcing two corner kicks. Their short passing game has seen them regain the domination but still it remains goalless but Fabrice Pithia is outstanding for the islanders whose domination of the latter part of the first half deserve a goal.

27 min It is still goalless and noise levels rise from the predominantly Zimbabwean crowd as play is stopped for the injured Mike Mitraille to be attended but Mokheti pile driver misses right upright post as Mauritius continued to frustrate Lesotho.

Mauritius won a corner on the left but Lesotho clears as the penetration becomes easier and more frequent for Lesotho. A yellow card for rough play on Lesotho Bokang as frustration continue. The match hobbles on goalless much to the delight of Zimbabwe who are hoping for such a result.

20 min Free kick well taken but Lesotho clear their lines and the match remained 0-0 despite Lesotho domination who won a free kick just outside and Mokheti misses the target as jeers from the crowd drowned the match.

17 min Maurituis survived a scare when Bushy Moletsane beat an offside trap but missed the target with the whole defence beaten as they waited for the offside flag that never came but Mauritius counter attack captain Cundasamy fouled outside the box for a free kick..

Early pressure for Lesotho yields no goals and Mauritius keep it tight. But the first corner taken by Mauritius after 8 mins causes problems in the Lesotho box with keeper missing but they surivived.

11min Badul for Mauritius is shown the yellow card rough play on Sesinyi Khoto forcing a two minute stoppage
13 min Lesotho's Muso Sello caught offside

2min: Mauritius kicks off and we are underway in Harare to a huge uproar from the predominantly Zimbabwe fans who are rooting for Mauritius.

The crucial Group A decider between Lesotho and Mauritius is ready to explode at Rufaro Stadium in Harare with both teams raring to go.

Lesotho who forced an important 2-2 draw against hosts Zimbabwe on Monday have made two changes with reserve goalkeeper Lekunutu Tsoeunyane starting as Sam Ketsekile has not recovered from the injured suffered on Monday.

Also out is Lekoekoe Molefe and was replaced by Taeli Ramashalane as Lesotho line up hoping to beat Mauritius by at least four goals to qualify ahead of Zimbabwe who beat the same opponents 3-0 in the opening match last Saturday.

Mauritius have made four changes to the side that lost 3-0 to Zimbabwe in the opener with Jean Eduardo red carded in that match out as is Mario Diolle and Jonathan Ernest. In comes Johan Cundasamy, Louis Lamarque, Mike Mitraille and Pascal Bazerque.
