MADAGASCAR SQUAD FOR COSZAFA MATCH

Madagascar’s new coach Odon Michel Razafintsalama has left out all of the country’s foreign-based players for the weekend’s Cosafa Castle Cup first round tie in Mozambique. Madagascar play their first match of the year in Maputo on Sunday in the regional southern African championship and will take an 18-man squad drawn only from locally-based clubs. Razafintsalama has included uncapped goalkeeper Anthony Rasolondrazana, who will 32 in September, and the 18-year-old forward forward Norbert Marc Fydelis. Madagascar has a considerable number of internationals who play in France and their Indian Ocean island territory, Reunion. But last year the islanders won just one of their 13 matches played and were eliminated in the early stages of the 2006 World Cup qualifiers by Benin.
