CAF END ANGOLA INSPECTION

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will complete the first of its inspection trips to prospective MTN Africa Cup of Nations hosts when a five-man team ends a four-day trip to Angola on Wednesday.
The inspectors, who are to compile a report on the suitability of prospective hosts for the 2010 MTN Africa Cup of Nations finals, will travel directly onto to Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, who are presenting a joint bid, followed by an inspection of Nigeria and end their 20-day mission in Libya.
The inspectors will be asked to submit a report to the CAF executive committee which will vote for the 2010 hosts at their meeting in Cairo in September.
Of the four candidates, only Nigeria has hosted a previous MTN Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Libya are bidding for the fourth successive time, having lost previously to Tunisia (2002), Egypt (2006) and Ghana, who host the next MTN Africa Cup of Nations finals in 2008.
In May, CAF short listed the four bids after a record eight candidatures expressed an interest in hosting the 2010 finals, which will fall six months before the first-ever World Cup finals are hosted in Africa.
Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal and Zimbabwe did not make the final shortlist.
