Angola are to build four new football stadiums in their bid to win the right to host the 2010 MTN Africa Cup of Nations finals. The four stadium are being earmarked for the capital Luanda, Benguela, Cabinda and Lubango at an estimated cost of US$100-million to US$140-million, the Angolan Football Federation said.
Angola are one of four bids to host the 2010 event, which will come six months before the first ever World Cup is hosted in Africa by nearby South Africa.
The Confederation of African Football is to decide next month on the identity of the 2010 MTN Africa Cup of Nations hosts. The other candidates are Libya, Nigeria and a joint bid by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
