TWO WITHDRAWALS FROM BAFANA SIDE

The English-based pair of Quinton Fortune and Benni McCarthy have withdrawn from the South African squad for a second successive match, officials said on Tuesday.
Fortune suffered injury in only his second appearance for Bolton Wanderers last week while McCarthy has cited personal commitments for his decision to withdraw from the MTN Africa Cup of Nations Cup qualifier against Congo in Johannesburg on Saturday.
McCarthy has just joined Blackburn Rovers and his Spanish wife is heavily pregnant with the couple’s second child.
Both Fortune and McCarthy were also missing when South Africa beat Namibia 1-0 in Windhoek in a warm-up friendly earlier this month.
South Africa’s caretaker coach Pitso Mosimane has called up the Danish-based striker Siyabonga Nomvete as cover.
Nomvete scored on Sunday for AB Aalborg against FC Copenhagen in their Danish league match.
