Cosafa president Ismail Bhamjee and the organisation’s general secretary Ashford Mamelodi have both been decorated with honours at Botswana’s 40th anniversary of independence celebration.
Bhamjee, who retires as Cosafa president at the end of October, received the Presidential Honour, the highest award that is made in the southern African republic.
Mamelodi, who is also the FIFA development officer for the southern African region, received the Presidential Order for Meritorious Service,
The pair have been at the helm of Cosasfa since its establishment almost 20 years ago and seen the organisation expand into the biggest of its kind in world football.
Both were decorated with their award by Botswana president Festus Mogae at a ceremony at Gaborone’s national stadium,
