Zambia won their second title in two months, beating Sudan to win the East and Central African Senior Challenge Cup in Ethiopia.
Noel Mwandila converted the winning kick as Zambia won 11-10 on post match penalty kicks after a goalless draw in the final over Sudan in Addis Ababa.
Zambia’s goalkeeper George Kolala saved twice in the shootout to also emerge as a hero for Zambia, who were competing as guest in the annual tournament for east and central Africa countries.
Zambia came closest to breaking the deadlock, hitting the crossbar after just eight minutes with his free kick.
