Lesotho coach Motheo Mohapi walked out on his team on Wednesday morning, just four days before Likuena are to face Niger in an African Nations Cup qualifier in Maseru.
Mohapi did not turn up for training, accusing the Lesotho Football Association of a lack of support and co-operation.
It is not the first time Mohapi has complained that his preparations and training plans have been stymied by officials.
LeFA are to hold a press conference in Maseru on Thursday to discuss the matter but there are strong rumours that Mohapi will be fired.
His assistant Leslie Notsi took over Wednesday’s training and is expected to lead the bench for Sunday’s Group Three match, where Lesotho are seeking to gain their first points of the qualifying campaign.
Orlando Pirates utility player Lehlohonolo Seema is in camp but Bloemfontein Celtic’s Lebajoa Mphongoa is still suspended after his walk out ahead of the last qualifier against Nigeria in Maseru last October.
