ZIMBABWE OUT OF NATIONS CUP RACE

Morocco need only draw on June 16 against Malawi in Blantyre to win their group after their 2-0 home triumph over Zimbabwe in Casablanca.
The home win left them four points clear and ended Zimbabwe’s interest in the MTN Africa Cup of Nations finals after they had qualified for the last two editions.
Tunisia referee Mourad Daami was again the centre of controversy as Morocco striker Maraoune Chamakh scored from a suspiciously offside position after just four minutes.
The Group 12 contest was effectively done and dusted when Youssef Hadji added a second goal midway through the first half.
Hadji had also scored in March when Morocco drew 1-1 in Harare.
Zimbabwe, who went into the match without the midfield duo of Tinashe Nengomasha and Esrom Nyandoro, had a golden chance soon after Morocco’s first goal but captain Benjani Mwaruwari’s effort was tantalizingly too long for strike partner Shingai Kawondera.
