SWAZI DRAW ENDS NATIONS CUP HOPES

Swaziland and Kenya drew 0-0 at the Somhlolo National stadium, effectively canceling out each other’s hopes of a trip to the MTN Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Swaziland had the better of the exchanges in the match, starting early when recalled striker Mfanzile Dlamini and the South African-based Tony Tsabedze combined to set up an early chance for the hosts.
At the other end, Kenya’s French-based striker Dennis Oliech also had a chance but he later limped off injured.
Tsabedze’s pace and tricky set up several other half chances for the Swazis but they lost the initiative after he, too, had to leave the field before the finish through injury.
In Group Six, Angola can make sure of the top spot on June 17 when they host the Swazis in Luanda.
Swaziland have yet to win a match in the group while Kenya, recently returned from a FIFA ban, have just one success in four outings.
