Haitham Tambal and Faisal Ajab continued their goal scoring prowess in the MTN Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with the two goals that have almost certainly put Sudan into the final tournament in Ghana next year.
The pair scored in the 2-0 away win in Victoria which has pushed Sudan up to 12 points in Group Four, just one behind leaders Tunisia.
Sudan are on the brink of mathematical certainty for qualification, almost guaranteed at least finishing among the best three runners-up, who also qualify for next January’s finals in Ghana.
Sudan can still, however, top their group standings when they host the Tunisian in September.
Ajab opened the scoring in the dying seconds of the first half at the Stade Linite, which was packed with home fans willing the Seychelles’ Pirates to their win of the year.
Tambal scored midway through the second half to make sure of Sudan’s success.
