ANGOLA THROUGH TO NATIONS CUP FINALS

Angola added their name to a growing list of qualifiers for the 2008 MTN Africa Cup of Nations finals, securing their place at next January’s finals with a 3-0 win over Swaziland in Luanda on Sunday.
Angola only needed a draw in their penultimate Group Six match to ensure top place in the standings but easily dispatched their opponents, who have yet to score a goal in the qualifying competition.
Captain Figueiredo had Angola in the lead after 18 minutes and burly forward Love extended the lead on the half-hour.
Egyptian-based striker Flavio added the third from the penalty spot in the 57th minute.
The win took World Cup finalists Angola up to 13 points, five ahead of second placed Eritrea, with one more round of qualifiers to be played in September.
