Mauritius have named Akbar Patel as their new coach, his third spell in charge of the Indian Ocean island’s football side.
Patel replaces Sarjoo Gowreensunkur, who resigned last month after Mauritius failed to win a medal at the Indian Ocean Island Games in Madagascar, the Mauritius Football Association confirmed.
Patel previously coached the side for a single match in 1986 and a spell of five games in 2003.
His latest tenure starts on Sunday when they meet Seychelles in a MTN Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Curepipe.
