Fighton Simukonda will return to the helm of the Zambian national team, taking charge of their squad for next weekend’s Cosafa Castle Cup semifinal against Mozambique in Atteridgeville.
Simukonda takes the place of Patrick Phiri, who has gone to Germany for a five week coaching course.
The defending champions named nine foreign-based players including a first call up at senior level for striker Noah Chivuta of South African Premier Soccer League team Wits University. He scored on Wednesday in the 3-1 defeat by Mamelodi Sundowns.
Also from the South African league is defender Kampamba Chintu, goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene of Free State Stars and Billy Mwanza and Joseph Musonda of Lamontville Golden Arrows.
Songwe Chalwe of Moroka Swallows wins a recall.
Also called up are Angolan based players Ian Bakala, Felix Katongo and Dube Phiri.
There is a recall for Green Buffaloes midfielder Boston Mwanza while Roan United goalkeeper Mufwaya Makasa has been dropped.
