South Africa have called up defender Ricardo Katza to replace the injured Bradley Carnell for next week’s friendly against world champions Italy.
Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira recalled the SuperSport United defender after Carnell withdrew with a knee problem. Katza won the last of his 19 caps in November last year.
Italy hosts the 2010 World Cup hosts in Siena on Oct. 17.
