Midfielder Ian Bakala will travel from Angola to bolster Zambia’s squad for Wednesday’s Cosafa Castle Cup final against South Africa.
Bakala joins five South African-based players in the squad for the match in Bloemfontein to decide this year’s title.
Bakala missed the semifinal win over Mozambique last month but did play for Zambia in the 3-1 win over South Africa in the MTN Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in early September.
Zambia coach Patrick Phiri has handed a first call up to defender Joseph Zimba, who competed at the World Youth Championships in Canada earlier this year with Zambia’s under-20 team.
Zambia are seeking to win a record fourth southern African championship while South Africa seek revenge after their humiliation by the Zambians in Cape Town last month.
