Zebras coach names his provisional squad

Botswana coach David Bright has named his squad for a must-win back-to-back African Nations Cup qualifiers against Burkina Faso later in October.

There are changes in the squad with Thatayaone Kgamanyane, who is plying his trade for Chippa United in South Africa, left out. There is no explanation for the skilful attacker, nicknamed ‘Messi’, being overtlooked.

There are new faces in the squad who were capped once during the Indepence celebrations friendly game against Namibia.

Bright was worried about his team not converting and believes this time they will rectify their poor scoring.

Zebras are boosted by their 1-0 win against Namibia during Botswana’s Independence 52 years celebrations which was played on September 30.

Bright will trim his squad to 20 before departing to Burkina Faso on Wednesday.

If Zebras win the two games against a tough Burkina Faso they will stand a good chance to qualify.
