Zimbabwe name provisional squad for CECAFA Cup

Sunday Chidzambga has named a 29-member squad ahead of the Warriors’ guest appearance at the 2017 Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations tournament to be played in Kenya next month.

The training squad comprises of local based players, save for Donald Ngoma who is currently contracted to Young Africans in Tanzania.

The two-week tournament begins on 3 December, ending on the 17th. The camp begins on Tuesday, 28 November.

The 10 nations participating in the 2017 CECAFA games are: Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Burundi, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Sudan, Libya and Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe is in Group B alongside Uganda, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Burundi while hosts Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Libya and Zanzibar are in Group A.

Chidzambga will be assisted by Rahman Gumbo, the Chicken Inn coach, and Dynamos coach, Lloyd Mtasa.

The date of the team’s departure for Kenya will be announced soon.
